I’m curious who on my friends list actually
sets goals? Comment yours for 2018
Well, we have this (these) converging upon us in crisis form in short order, at the same time – say in 15 to 25 years. And a whole bunch more.
We truly need to overhaul our leadership AND our perverted political structure in spite of the fact we’re already out of time.
I first watched this 4 or 5 years ago and forgot about it; perhaps I subconsciously wanted to forget about it, I dunno.
But I just did watch it again, thanks to Kevin Hester bringing it to my attention. Thx, Kev. (I think).
The adults in the room here will watch this intently.
It’s called “Collapse of Complex Societies” by Dr Joseph Tainter
_____________Major Future Challenges___________________
1.Funding retirements for the Boomer generation.
2.Continuing increases in the cost of health care
3.Replacing decaying infrastructure
4.Adapting to climate change and repairing environmental damage
5.Developing new sources of energy
6.In all likelihood, continuing high military costs
7. Increasing costs of innovation
In 1962, the science fiction writer, Philip K. Dick, wrote “The Man in the High Castle,” among the best of his 45 novels and winner of the prestigious Hugo Award. It constitutes an alternative-history that imagines what life would be like if Germany and Japan had won World War II.
I recently discovered the novel while browsing in a used bookstore. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. I was mesmerized by Dick’s skillful weaving of politically and culturally diverse points of view, embodied in a handful of unforgettable characters, into a complex, coherent narrative. Dick also takes ideas seriously and that resonated with my philosophical interests. Here is a quote from the book that has contemporary significance. It contains the musings of an anti-fascist spy struggling to make headway in a world now dominated by fascism:
“A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? And–how many of us do know it?…Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses…what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth…?”
Exceptionalists vs Integrationalists: The Eurasian-Wide Struggle ~ Andrew Korybko May – 2015
The Significance Of The War On Syria:
“Considering all of the aforementioned agreements in strategic focus endemic to the American Exceptionalist-Zionist-Wahhabist alliance (hereto referred to as Cerberus), the War on Syria becomes what may aptly be described as the most pivotal Eurasian resistance struggle today.
Other than the fact that all three heads of Cerberus are bitterly engaged in mauling this Mideast nation and its people to pieces, Syria represents the last vestige of secular pan-Arab governance due to the ideological foundations of the Baath Party. This qualifies it as the most Resistant & Defiant state in Israel’s nearest vicinity and by itself is reason enough for Cerberus’ enemies (thenceforth referred to as the Herculean Coalition [the anchors of which are Russia, China, and Iran] after the Greek hero that defeated Cerberus) to support its democratically elected government.
If Cerberus is successful in slaughtering Syria, then this would herald in a Dark Age for the Mideast that would turn the entire region into a launching pad for further destabilization into the Eurasian interior, and thus, expressly target the geographic vulnerabilities of the Herculean Coalition.”
There is a detrimental and illusory separation
I see women make in their lives…
between sensuality and career,
between sexuality and purpose.
There is this fear
that if we as women inhabit
our sexuality and sensuality,
it will invalidate our intelligence,
our professional qualifications,
and our ability to lead with discernment and clarity.
This is an outdated story.
This is an old paradigm
of limiting beliefs
and compartmentalized identities.
Our patriarchal society is begging women
to inject into the corporate world
our playful magnetism,
If we continue to believe that we must disconnect
from the fact that we are sexual beings,
we’ll continue to attract
relationships and experiences
that perpetuate the belief
that our essence
We cannot wait
for the world
to give us permission
to be who we are.
We must claim it within ourselves,
so the world can mirror
our chosen sovereignty.
You can be erotic AND responsible.
You can be sensual AND in integrity.
It is time to move away
from “either or”
and move closer towards
Embrace your sexuality.
It is the key to creating the life that your soul desires.
Last night I hosted a Kardashian themed Christmas party. The invitation was to, “come celebrate Christmas with your shallow side …or come as you are”. I had a blast being ridiculous with folks I always have fun with, but usually in a more devotional / workshop space. I’m grateful for friends with range …
It was a year ago today.
I had heard of the action. Bits and pieces were published every now and then throughout the summer.
But when my daughter Abbie Plouff and her friend Irene Folstrom went out I began paying even more attention.
Then, on the night of November 20, 2016 events happened that awakened me.
Peaceful protestors were sprayed with water cannons on the freezing plains of North Dakota. Within weeks a mobilization call went out from various U.S. Military Veterans organization.
Citizens are being attacked by our own military, police and corporations. I felt I had little choice. I was to answer the call. Over the course of the winter I made three trips to Standing Rock. Each time bringing supplies from the wonderful people of my community.
And I met some amazing people that winter. Gary Brewer, Mathew Robie, Joseph Hock, Julie Kurylowicz, Aubree Peckham, Bill LaCroix, Casey Chamberlain, Julius Page Evan K Duke III and many, many more brothers and sisters standing, together.
We still stand together. We work together. We organize together. We are growing a strong movement together.
Climate change and the right to land, air and water that is ours and clean.
